What information is required for a PCB assembly quotation?
For most projects, we request a BOM with manufacturer part numbers, Gerber files, Pick & Place data, assembly drawings, and required quantities.
For the initial quotation, please also indicate whether programming or functional testing is required and, if applicable, the estimated test time per board.
Additional information may be requested depending on the product and manufacturing requirements.
Do you provide turnkey PCB assembly?
Yes. We support turnkey, partial-turnkey, and consigned PCB assembly.
For turnkey projects, we can coordinate PCB fabrication, component procurement, SMT/THT assembly, inspection, programming, testing, and final assembly according to project requirements.
What production volumes do you support?
We support prototype, engineering builds, EVT/DVT/PVT, NPI, pilot production, high-mix manufacturing, and low-to-medium volume production.
Production planning is based on the actual PCB, BOM, testing requirements, order quantity, and forecast demand.
Do you review the design before production?
Yes. Available manufacturing documentation is reviewed before quotation and production planning.
The review may include BOM verification, PCB fabrication requirements, assembly documentation, component availability, lifecycle status, manufacturability, programming, and testing requirements.
Can you source electronic components?
Yes. For turnkey and partial-turnkey projects, components can be sourced through authorized distributors, approved suppliers, and customer-designated vendors according to project requirements.
Customer AVL or AML requirements can also be followed where specified.
What happens if a component is obsolete or unavailable?
Our engineering and sourcing teams can review potential alternatives when a specified component is obsolete, unavailable, or has an unacceptable lead time.
A replacement is evaluated according to the requirements of the original design. Depending on the component, this may include pinout, package, electrical characteristics, thermal performance, lifecycle status, availability, and surrounding circuitry.
Alternative components are submitted for customer review before implementation.
Can you modify the PCB layout if there is no pin-to-pin replacement?
Depending on the project and available design files, yes.
If no suitable pin-to-pin replacement is available, the new component may require footprint, placement, routing, surrounding component, or other PCB layout changes.
For ICs and other function-critical components, schematic, electrical, firmware, thermal, and mechanical requirements may also need to be reviewed.
The required engineering work is evaluated before changes are made.
Do you provide functional testing?
Yes. Testing support can include ICT, functional testing, power-on verification, firmware programming, customer test fixtures, and customer-defined test procedures.
Testing requirements should be provided during quotation whenever possible.
Can you sign an NDA?
Yes. A mutual NDA can be executed before confidential project files are reviewed when required.
Can you help identify alternative components to reduce BOM cost?
Yes. We can review the BOM and identify potential alternative components or second-source options to help reduce component cost and improve sourcing flexibility.
Depending on the component, the review may include:
Electrical specifications
Package and footprint compatibility
Pinout compatibility
Voltage and current ratings
Temperature and reliability requirements
Availability and lead time
MOQ and purchasing conditions
Manufacturer lifecycle status
For standard passive components such as resistors and capacitors, equivalent alternatives may provide opportunities to reduce BOM cost while maintaining the required specifications.
For ICs, power devices, connectors, and other design-sensitive components, additional engineering review may be required. We review compatibility rather than assuming that a component is interchangeable based on specifications alone.
If a suitable alternative is not pin-to-pin compatible, we can also evaluate whether schematic changes or PCB layout modifications are practical.
Alternative components are not substituted without customer review and approval.
