Engineering Review Before Production

Many manufacturing problems do not originate at the SMT line.

Component availability, footprints, PCB layout, panelization, programming, testing, or incomplete manufacturing documentation can affect a project before assembly begins.

Components can be sourced through authorized distributors, approved suppliers, and customer-designated sources according to the agreed sourcing requirements.

If a specified component becomes unavailable, has a long lead time, or creates a significant BOM cost issue, potential second-source or alternative components can be reviewed.

For design-sensitive components, the review may include electrical specifications, package and footprint compatibility, pinout, voltage and current ratings, thermal requirements, lifecycle status, availability, and lead time.

Alternative components are not substituted without customer review and approval.

If an existing fixture or fixture design is available, we can evaluate how it can be implemented in our manufacturing process.

Test fixture development scope and applicable NRE or development costs are reviewed with the customer before implementation.

Prototype, NPI & Repeat Production

We support OEM manufacturing programs from prototype PCB assembly and NPI through pilot and repeat production.

During prototype and NPI builds, manufacturing information, component availability, programming procedures, test requirements, and assembly processes can be reviewed before the product moves into repeat production.

Turnkey, Partial-Turnkey & Consigned Manufacturing

Different OEM programs require different sourcing models.

Turnkey Manufacturing

We can coordinate PCB fabrication, component procurement, PCB assembly, programming, inspection, testing, box build, and other agreed manufacturing requirements.

Partial-Turnkey Manufacturing

The customer may provide selected components while we procure the remaining BOM.

This can be useful when the customer controls critical ICs, custom components, allocated materials, or existing inventory.

Consigned Manufacturing

The customer supplies some or all manufacturing materials while we provide the agreed assembly, inspection, testing, or integration services.

The appropriate sourcing model depends on the BOM, component availability, customer purchasing strategy, and manufacturing requirements.

What files are needed for an EMS manufacturing quotation?

Typical quotation files include a BOM with manufacturer part numbers, Gerber files, Pick & Place data, assembly drawings, required quantities, and applicable programming or test requirements.

PCB fabrication specifications, test procedures, mechanical information, and special assembly requirements should also be provided where applicable.

Can you support manufacturing transfer to Taiwan?

Yes. Existing production documentation and manufacturing requirements can be reviewed for OEM customers evaluating a Taiwan manufacturing source or additional manufacturing source.

The first transfer build can be used to verify components, PCB requirements, assembly processes, programming, testing, and manufacturing documentation before repeat production.

Do you provide programming and functional testing?

Yes. Depending on project requirements, support may include IC / MCU programming, firmware loading, power-on verification, ICT, functional testing, customer-defined test procedures, and test fixture integration.

Do you support turnkey, partial-turnkey, and consigned manufacturing?

Yes.

For turnkey projects, we manage the agreed PCB fabrication and component procurement requirements.

For partial-turnkey projects, the customer may supply selected components while we source the remaining materials.

For consigned manufacturing, the customer supplies some or all materials while we provide the agreed manufacturing services.
